Toronto: Dark Horse Espresso Bar

Dark Horse Espresso Bar is a must-visit if you’re looking for a nice work environment, delicious coffee, or just a spot to catch up with friends. After hearing good reviews, I visited the Chinatown cafe location, one of their four coffee shops.

Upon first glance, I fell in love with how bright this coffee shop is due to the large windows. Furthermore, the decor is rustic, with wooden bar and beams.

Another incentive to visit Dark Horse Espresso bar is the mass amount of seating as the front is made up of two communal tables. It gave each individual a lot of space and I noticed a lot of friendly exchanges. It was also perfect elbow room for reading Murakami!

I ordered a chai latte and found it to be very good, but pretty pricey. My friend, on the other hand, ordered a latte and highly enjoyed it. After I finished, I helped myself to a cup of water infused with fruits, like this child. Another interesting aspect that makes this particular Dark Horse Espresso Bar a hidden gem is that it is part of the Robertson building, which houses an all-year installation and a lush bio-filter green wall!
