Toronto’s Best Brunch Spot: The Drake Hotel

Best Brunch Toronto Drake Hotel

We take brunch, arguably the best meal of the day, very seriously here at Stone & Fern.  I want to introduce you to what I consider to be Toronto’s best brunch spot! Sharing a name with October’s Very Own, the Drake Hotel has lounges, a dining room, a rooftop patio, and a café. However, it offers more than just accommodations and food for out-of-town guests, it is also a popular nightclub and venue for the arts.

It was a beautiful sunny morning so we couldn’t miss the opportunity to visit the rooftop patio, known as the Sky Yard. This colourfully decorated space was filled with people also here for the lively atmosphere and impeccable service. The patio was split into multiple “sections” such as booths and high top. Both were comfortable with shade from the sun, allowing you to truly enjoy the ambiance and food.

The Food

After long discussions about what to order, we decided on the Chicken & Waffle and the Smoked Salmon Benny. The Chicken & Waffle was delicious with a chicken that was fried perfectly for an outer crisp and a tender inside. What differentiated this particular chicken & waffle was the Niagara cherry jam which was rich in flavour and blended perfectly with the crème fraîche and maple syrup.

The Smoked Salmon Benny was surprisingly even more delicious than the Chicken & Waffles. While a smoked salmon eggs benedict is a pretty standard brunch item, their hollandaise sauce with the root vegetable hash together was mouth-watering perfection.

With fantastic food, a beautiful rooftop, and friendly service, what are you still waiting for? Make a reservation at the Drake for your next weekend brunch.
