Markham: Tendou Matcha & Dessert

Best Matcha Toronto Tendou Cafe

Edit: Tendou has now closed

There is no longer a need to line up at Tsujiri for your matcha fix because Markham just got its own matcha cafe! Tendou had its soft opening Victoria Day weekend and brings authentic Japanese matcha into an assortment of drinks, desserts, and soft serve.

Perfect for a hot summer day, they are continuously adding new desserts to their menu. We ordered the Hokkaido Milkshake ($6.50) and Matcha Au Lait Frappe ($6.25). We found the drinks to be extremely rich in flavour. The Hokkaido Milkshake was very creamy, which I liked. I found that the red beans on the Matcha Au Lait Frappe a little hard, but my aunt told me that is how red beans should be made traditionally. Aside from that fact, I would highly recommend the Matcha Au Lait Frappe.

We wanted soft serve, but sadly the machines were down that day. Instead, we opted for a matcha creme brulee ($5.50), which was thoroughly enjoyed. I would say it’s one of the best matcha creme brulees I have ever tried.

I am looking forward to going back and trying the black sesame and matcha soft serves, which are priced from $4 to $5.50.
